All applicants must be 21 years of age, have a High School diploma or equivalent, pass a comprehensive background investigation and be willing to work various shifts/holidays.   • The FBI is warning the public about a phone scam that is targeting individuals while displaying the FBI’s telephone number on the recipient’s caller ID.

    The FBI has received multiple calls about someone claiming to represent the U.S. government or even to be an FBI agent, according to a news release issued by the FBI Springfield office.

  • Investigation into a methamphetamine ring in the Cerro Gordo area resulted in the arrest of 12 suspects.

    Last September, the Piatt County Sheriff's department was asked by Cerro Gordo police to look into the possible meth ring in the Cerro Gordo area. Sherrif's investigator, J. D. Russell said that by December, at least seven suspected manufacturing locations had been found.
